Alabama Author Visit: John Davis

Join us as local author John Davis discusses his books; Rainy Street Stories and Around the Corner. Rainy Street Stories and Around the Corner are intriguing reflections on today’s espionage, terrorism, and secret wars as well as reflections on the moral and ethical issues these events present. These are stories, essays, and poems by John William Davis, himself a retired US Army intelligence officer. His tales take place in Cold War Europe, and touch on that war’s bitter aftermath as well. He lived with his family overseas for many years, where he served as a soldier, civil servant, and linguist. He recounts mysterious, sometimes strangely suggestive, even curiously puzzling tales. He draws upon actual conversations at utterly unexpected times, chance meetings, historical site visits, and his readings to illustrate his reflections.
