The current Athens-Limestone County Public Library was built in 2015. The project was a sustainably designed renovation of an abandoned grocery store building revitalized and repurposed as the Athens-Limestone County Public Library, which houses children and teen areas, a local history room, a computer lab, private study rooms, used book store, refreshment area, circulation desk, and meeting rooms for community gatherings and events.
